Legal expenses insurance, regulated by a European Community directive and adopted by the Italian system, is an insurance contract by which the insurer, through payment of a premium, is obliged to keep at his charge legal and expert’s expenses necessary to the insured to defend his own interests in judicial fora, in any kind of proceedings, or in extra-judicial fora, in particular to obtain compensation for the damages suffered or for his defence against a claim request made against him.

This type of insurance allows to face a litigation or a trial, certain of being defended whenever and wherever.
