Legal expenses insurance, regulated by a European Community directive and adopted by the Italian system, is an insurance contract by which the insurer is obliged to pay for legal and expert’s expenses necessary to the insured for the defence of his interests in judicial fora, in any kind of  proceedings.

Or in extra-judicial fora in order to obtain the compensation for the damages suffered or to defend himself against a claim for damages made against him. This type of insurance allows to face a litigation or a trial, certain of being defended whenever and wherever.
